Jo’s formative years as a dancer inspired her 15 years ago to give up the stress and physical restraints of a career in PR to pursue a career as a physical fitness coach. A level 3 personal trainer, level 4 biomechanics coach and sports massage therapist, Jo has worked with a huge variety of clients with various fitness levels, postural problems and injuries to vastly improve movement and optimize performance.
Working with the correct movement of the spine and its associated structures has always been a passion, so after the birth of her daughter 7 years ago, Jo returned to her dance roots and trained in Pilates. More recently she has extended this to include barre – ballet inspired exercise. Her class focus is to combine fitness with classical Pilates and using her experience in studio group exercise, sequencing moves to music. Pilates is for everyone so Jo will work hard with every client to ensure they reach their own challenging level by offering different options. We also have a lot of fun in class so be prepared to leave with a smile!

I came to Pilates after suffering from a herniated disc over 10 years ago. I toyed with classical and the not so classical approach to Pilates for years - from right back to the basics of the fundamentals of Pilates to a more cardio/yoga inspired type of class. When I moved to Toronto in the Summer of 2016 I hit the studios hard & started practicing 5/6 times a week sometimes twice a day because I loved the studio and style of teaching so much. My friend asked me if I had thought about doing my training... fast forward to last year and completing my Stott Pilates teacher training in Brighton!
I really am a firm believe in that Pilates is for everyone and anyone - it can teach you so much about your mind, body and soul! I like to think the spiritual side of movement isn't just saved for yoga. Come to my class for an hour of movement, fun and a great playlist! I think the playlist is such an important part of the class! I love feedback and want to cater to you - it's a two way street so don't be afraid to let me know what you want to see in classes too! I look forward to seeing you on the mat!
